Parking Lot Blessings

Today I left VBS hot, tired, and sweaty, but knew I needed to make a stop by Kroger on the way home.  As I got out of my car, I saw a family that used to come to my Bible Study when the kids were smaller.  I heard throught the grapevine that they were adopting and older boy from Guyana.  It was so fun to see how big the kids were getting and to catch up on what was going on.  We shared brief adoption stories and pictures.  I promised to pray for their new son, Daniel, and they promised to pray for Miriam.  As I was turning to go into Kroger, Lila (who is going into 4th grade) said, "Well, why don't we just pray right now!"  So we held hands in the parking lot, and she prayed a precious prayer for these two children in different parts of the world who are waiting on their forever families.  It was a beautiful moment in the middle of an ordinary day, and I am so thankful for it.
